Starting the New Year Right! Happy 2011

We started the new year with an adventure. Little did we know what we would find when we drove aout 75 miles to this park East of Atlanta. Hard Labor Creek State Park is beautiful. Certainly worth the trip. The rain did not hinder our explororation, after all we ARE explorers, adventurers, voyagers, travelers, opportunists, pioneers . . . the list goes on. Without these explorations we would never discover such sights. Lucky us!

So Many Adventures!

I am starting with the middle of our trip. We visited John's daughter who just moved to Pitsburgh and she took us to this restaurant to have a Pittsburg--Cheese Steak. It is basically a hamburger with literally everything on it, including your fries and cole slaw. So here is the sandwhich and here is everyone trying it.

In addition to eating the cheese steak we took pictures at the bar, because this restaurant happens to be the original Primanti Bros.

Octoberfest in Decatur, GA

John and I met my daughter at The Brick Store in Decatur for lunch the other day. The Brick Store is one of the top 10 beer bars/restaurants in the world. Very popular and very busy but a great place to go. This is one of the owner's holding the glass boot of beer that is passed around. If you have never been there you definitely want to stop by. If you are not into the loud crowd you might want to try Leon's up the street. Another one of their great restaurants.

After a brief stay at our son's home to visit our other two grandchildren we headed for NC to visit my brother. Baltimore Inner Harbor is on the way so we started off early to get these shots before we continued on our journey. This one here is a HDR.

Same picture as the one above but just a natural photo.

Early One Morning

We got up early the first morning to get some sunrise pictures. This is over the lake at Bald Eagle state park.

This is on a back road. This is one of my favorites.

John's Catch

I told you I would post a picture of John's fish. He made a trout chowder which everyone raved about. Sorry, I did not try it. I don't think it even sounds good,--but that's just me. Picky eater that I am, I passed it up.

We have a New Grandson

We took a trip to Blanchard, PA to see our newest grandson, Xavier or Baby X. Not exactly an expedition but a trip for the two of us. We always enjoy a road trip. We actually drove through the night to have the entire first day with our new baby. He's so cute!
While there Clark went down to a creek near his daughter's home to catch a little fishing in and he came back with 3 fish. Go Clark!
I haven't edited those pictures yet, but I'll get them up soon.
